Let's get sentimental and celebrate Earth Day a week late!

I came across this poem and thought it was beautiful.  Unconditional love in nature - I've never heard anything quite like this.  And, not only is the message gorgeous, but the poem itself is brilliant in its simplicity.  Simplicity is something I've never achieved in my writing, which makes me love this piece all the more. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

A little background on Daniel Ladinsky:
Ladinsky is an American poet who has loosely "translated" Hafez's poems.  Instead of actually translating the work, Ladinsky interprets Hafez's work using his own language - he basically writes his own poetry that tries to parody the Hafez style.  Apparently this is a source of discontent with some, but I don't see why it matters.  This poem is beautiful no matter who wrote it.  Kudos to Ladinsky for giving credit to Hafez for inspiring this wonderful poetry.  The excerpt above is from Ladinsky's book The Gift.
