What happened to the comma?

I don't know about you, but I miss the comma. For a while, all lists included more than one comma. One after the first object, one after the second, and ALWAYS one before the and/or. Comma, what happened to you?! You were there for a while, now you're gone. This, my friends, calls for a period of mourning.

Miss Ledvina, my 2nd grade teacher, taught me to place my commas before the "and" so I complied. Don't try to tell me she was wrong, I won't listen! Whose idea was it to omit the comma anyway, the comma dictator?

Alright, I'll be reasonable for a moment. I realize the numerous "list" commas may be unnecessary, but I don't care. I want it back, and I want it now.

As you can see I, for one, am a comma abuser. In fact, I've used a comma in every single sentence of this post. I even used two in some instances, just for good measure. Feel free to judge my excessive comma usage, because every time I read one of your comma-less sentences, you know I'll be judging you.

Beware the comma!

He bites.
